J.R.: [00:00:00] Hello, everyone, and welcome back to another fun and exciting episode of One Thousand Gurus, where we share the stories and lessons from people of all walks of life. And I'm your host, J.R. Yonocruz.
Today, we welcome back a longtime friend of mine, Lorenzo Aromin for a part two episode. We are in studio for this one because he happened to be in town that weekend for a wedding so it was a good excuse to get face-to-face or belly-to-belly as he put it.
I love talking to Lorenzo because he has such a fire and edge to him that is very galvanizing and really makes you wanna take action on your life or go start a business and make your vision become a reality.
It kinda reminds me of back in the days when he and I would go to business seminars and hear entrepreneurs speak.
And I respect him and his wife for putting in the work and creating success by helping people improve their lives.
We speak about the three main pillars in his life and business: wellness, wealth and worship and we get into the nitty gritty details on how he's been getting shredded, what family life is like an inside look on peptides building a business via brand building and marketing how your spiritual life really does spill over into the [00:01:00] rest of your life and vice versa.
Overall it was a very enlightening inspiring and energizing conversation and hopefully you guys enjoy listening to it as much as I did. So without further ado please enjoy this conversation with Lorenzo Aromin.
Hello, everyone, and welcome back to One Thousand Gurus. Lorenzo, welcome back to the show.
Lorenzo: What's up, man? Thanks for having me again.
J.R.: Yeah, thanks for coming.
Lorenzo: Great to be here in person this time.
J.R.: Yeah, yeah. I was pretty excited to hear that you were gonna be in town- Yeah ... so I'm glad that we got to throw it on the books and be in studio this time.
In studio's always a fun experience- Yeah, this is nice ... with Solomon.
Lorenzo: Nice
J.R.: Yeah, it's a really good studio. Shout out to Solomon. If you guys need podcast studio services, check out Podcast Place Long Beach.
Lorenzo: Definitely. Oh.
J.R.: Yeah. Appreciate you, man. So yeah, you always get the shout-out. So, anyways, let's jump into it.
We started a little bit late, but we can... I don't want to speed through too much of this, because I think there's so many good stuff to go, to go through. But first I want to ask, so the last recording that we had was back in November 2025. Man. Published February. Ooh. And so that was pre-Lorenzo being a [00:02:00] dad.
That's right. So how's your life been? How's family life? How's, how's your son?
Lorenzo: Dude, we're so grateful. We're so blessed. He's getting big quick. He's seven months now.
J.R.: Yeah.
Lorenzo: And he's- Crazy ... crawling. He's babbling. Right? You know, he's full of joy. You know, he's g- bringing so much joy to the family. My, my parents take care of him during the daytime while we do work in our business during the day.
So, you know, we're grateful to have them as support, you know, literally just down the way from where we live in Vegas. But yeah, man, you know, we're so grateful for that, and yeah, it's so, so much fun.
J.R.: Mm-hmm.
Lorenzo: You know, I never thought being a dad would be, you know, this demanding, but very rewarding.
J.R.: Mm.
Lorenzo: Right? And I told my wife the other day that, you know, our first... You know, we've been married for eight years now, going on our ninth year come February, and our first, you know, us being toget- just us two, that marriage is over.
J.R.: Right. Right. You
Lorenzo: know, this is our new marriage. This is our new life together with, with our son, so, you know, super grateful.
But yeah, man, thanks for asking.
J.R.: Mm-hmm.
Lorenzo: Yeah.
J.R.: I'm curious two things. One, I know he's still really young. Mm-hmm. But do you feel like he has any [00:03:00] personality traits that are f- from either you or your wife? And second, what are the hardest challenges for being a dad? I'm sure there's a lot.
Lorenzo: Personality traits, he's, he's pretty active.
He's, he's already showing a, a great athleticism. You know, he's very, like, jumping around- Mm ... climbing on everything. When it comes to, like, traits I, I make fun of my wife saying, like, "So my mom..." It's a funny thing you s- mention it. My mom says we've never really, like, screamed as children. For my mom, it's like, "Why is this kid screaming?"
J.R.: Mm.
Lorenzo: And I was like, "Oh, well, it's the, you get that from your mom." But, you know, we just joke around. Yeah, yeah. But, you know, he's, The m- the most demanding part would be just, like, you know, during the nighttime, so, you know, you know, in the future, if you plan to have kids k- kids wake up every two to three hours during the nighttime, and that's kinda like...
Your, your sleep is just, I call it choppy.
J.R.: Mm.
Lorenzo: It's just choppy. And you know, you get used to it, and obviously it actually provoked me more to, like, wake up earlier than I've than I would. You know, like, the whole grind of being an entrepreneur, the, "Hey, I wake up at 5:00 AM," or something like that.
J.R.: Yeah.
Lorenzo: That wasn't really, like... We never really subscribed to that, but it [00:04:00] kinda forced us into that now, so, getting in a greater routine, and then once we start talking about, like, my fitness journey, like, I could do cardio in, in the morning fasted-
J.R.: Yeah ...
Lorenzo: way, way earlier 'cause I'm already up and at 'em, right?
So that's kinda, like, how that goes.
J.R.: Yeah. I was gonna say because some of the stories that I, that I like seeing you post-
Lorenzo: Mm-hmm ...
J.R.: you're either eating or doing some cardio, and then your son, you're just carrying him in, like, the, you know, little strap thing.
Lorenzo: Yeah.
J.R.: And then he's just kinda, like, chilling there.
Lorenzo: Yeah, he's very, he's very aware right now.
J.R.: Yeah.
Lorenzo: He's very curious. Right now in this stage he's very attached to his mother. Which is great, right? Gives me a little break too. But I've heard, you know, from other dads and other people, like, on, on- online, it's like, as like, especially the sons, as they grow, they wanna hang out with dad more, like maybe around two or three years old.
J.R.: Mm.
Lorenzo: Just because, you know, they wanna see what it's like to be, have a, a man as a role model.
J.R.: Mm.
Lorenzo: So I'm, I'm excited for that. He's fun right now. Yeah. Obviously. Like, I don't know yet, 'cause I'm a first-time dad this year and just trying to figure it out. Yeah. So, you know, it's stressful, especially for my wife.
She's like, [00:05:00] she gets overwhelmed. Obviously we run, you know, multiple businesses and, you know, it's very demanding, like bandwidth-wise, mentally. But, you know, we're so grateful we have help along the way with him, so.
J.R.: Mm. Last question on family. Sure. I'm, I'm sure it'll change, but are you guys... How do you guys feel right now about having another kid?
Or is it, are you guys set right now with just one, or do you have it in your plans?
Lorenzo: So we're definitely planning to have more. Okay, okay. So, we come from a family of, we're the oldest, we're both the oldest of four.
J.R.: Right.
Lorenzo: So we love the family dynamic of, you know, bigger family. We want at least four.
You know- Gotta
J.R.: match the numbers
Lorenzo: We just gotta match or even one up my parents, right?
J.R.: Yeah.
Lorenzo: But we're, we're really gunning for, you know, at least four. God's will be done Right Uh, maybe sometime in 2028 we'll start trying again.
J.R.: Mm.
Lorenzo: Mm-hmm. So we're actually celebrating our 10 years of marriage, and we're planning to go to Mexico.
J.R.: Mm.
Lorenzo: This, th- this resort called The Fives.
J.R.: Okay.
Lorenzo: W- we'll renew our vows, and maybe we'll, we'll start there. Yeah, yeah.
J.R.: Yeah. That's exciting. Congrats.
Lorenzo: Thank you. Thank you, bro.
J.R.: All right. So maybe we'll transition to the first topic. Sure. So we have [00:06:00] wellness, wealth, and worship on the docket.
Lorenzo: Sure.
J.R.: But in terms of wellness, and I guess we can move into it with you're recently on a cut, right?
Lorenzo: Mm-hmm.
J.R.: How that has been going, and then maybe transitioning to, we have things about peptides and GLPs, testosterone, et cetera.
Lorenzo: Yeah.
J.R.: So how's your fitness right now? How has your journey been?
Lorenzo: Yeah, man, so let's just start with, like, post my son being born. So around February, I was around 990 pounds. I would say I, I would be, like, you know, 20% body fat.
So it's not like I was horrible. I was still going to the gym and stuff, but overall it wasn't, like, you know, elite, right? And obviously I have high expectations for myself, 'cause obviously we run a fitness and nutrition coaching business, and you know, we just wanna be the best example for our clients and obviously just to ourselves each and every single day.
Right now I'm sitting at, like, 174 pounds, so I dropped, like, 24 pounds in the last... It's not even the last since then, it was probably in the last 90 days.
J.R.: Mm.
Lorenzo: So, when it comes to, like, energy and stuff like that, my, my habits are [00:07:00] more dialed in, and I really see that overflowing into, like, my business, you know, my family life my relationships, and stuff like that.
So, yeah, energy's great. Now I, I do... We do use supplementation to really get that, get those things going so that we have more of an edge because honestly, guys, naturally if you, if your, if your calories are so low- you're gonna plummet.
J.R.: Mm.
Lorenzo: Energy-wise, fatigue-wise, mentally and draining. So there's supplementation out there so that you can actually, you know, get ahead and actually use, use that to your advantage.
J.R.: So what kind of supplementation, and I guess how are you using it? I'm very, very, like, new to all that stuff.
Lorenzo: Mm-hmm. So bottom line is people, or men in general, so we've been on a decline when it comes to, like, natural testosterone rates since, like, the 1980s. So I don't know exact numbers, but it's been on a decline.
What that attributes to is, like, you know, things that we wear, the, the things that we eat with, you know, plastics, microplastics, stuff like that. We kind of talked about that last time.
J.R.: Mm.
Lorenzo: But overall, I [00:08:00] was clinically low two years ago with, like, a, a testosterone level around 300, which is inherently low, and it wasn't really affecting me, like, when it comes to, like, building muscle-wise.
Like, I was, I was maintaining it, but I, I noticed that I couldn't pack on more.
J.R.: Mm-hmm.
Lorenzo: But d- and then I actually went to, went to a doctor, went to a clinic, and then got prescribed testosterone replacement therapy. S- testosterone replacement therapy just gets your hormones in a level where it's more optimal.
So around 800 to, you know, 900 test levels is where you can be at when it comes to TRT.
J.R.: Is that, like, maximum or average or ideal?
Lorenzo: That's, like, in range. Okay. When you start messing with, like, the higher ranges of testosterone, you, you go into, like, anabolic steroids territory.
J.R.: Yeah.
Lorenzo: So that's pretty much where that is, yeah.
Mm-hmm.
J.R.: Mm. Okay.
Lorenzo: Mm-hmm.
J.R.: Any other supplementation that you wanna throw out there? So you've mentioned GLPs, testosterone hormone replacement therapy, and performance-enhancing drugs. What do you wanna start with? [00:09:00]
Lorenzo: Let's do pept- peptides.
J.R.: Okay. Oh, yeah, peptides. Pept- Yes.
Lorenzo: Yeah, peptides are great. You know, as peptides are br- are amino acids, so they're just signals to your body.
They're not the same thing as steroids. So you do have to inject them, but the one thing that's really popular nowadays is what we call the Rita. And it's like a GLP... Like, people are, are familiar with Ozempic, a GLP-1. Mm. This is a third generation of the GLP. So it has attributes of preserving muscle maintaining your blood glucose levels when it comes to, you know, for us, like Filipinos, like we have like high glucose- Mm
like diabetes and stuff like that. Mm. It helps with that, and it also suppresses your appetite.
J.R.: Mm.
Lorenzo: So using that to your advantage where you can actually reduce the food noise, where when, you know, maybe at night when you're usually hungry or you wanna go into the snack cabinet and grab, like, you know, cookies and whatever, you just don't have it.
It's just literally turned off.
J.R.: Mm.
Lorenzo: So it really helps, especially people who are, like, obese, you know. You know, 70% of of Americans are obese and, you know, we can tap into, like, you [00:10:00] know, what, what that goes into, like, the... You know, I'm a Christian, into the Christian church where, you know, we don't really talk about gluttony or, or obesity in there because it's just something that they kinda joke about.
But more so Using the resource that we have nowadays where technology's advancing, you know, all these things to your advantage so that you can be healthier, happier, and also, like, be about your game when it comes to, you know, conquering the world that you, that you're in.
J.R.: Mm. Okay. Mm. So in terms of peptides, well, you said it's a craze, but for, I don't know who we'd be speaking to, but maybe someone who is along some s- some sort of journey where they're trying to lose weight or maybe they're already relatively fit but they wanna get to the next level, do you have any sort of takeaways or things that have worked for you that you'd recommend or strategies or ways to rethink?
Lorenzo: Yeah. First of all, if you're gonna tap into anything when it comes to peptides or hormone replacement, definitely get your blood work done.
J.R.: Mm.
Lorenzo: If you're not getting your blood work at least once or twice a year you shouldn't [00:11:00] be touching these things. So you need to make sure, like, especially as a male make sure you know that where your testosterone level is at before you even touch anything when it comes to hormones so you know your baseline.
But overall, if you're trying to, you know, pack on muscle and burn fat, make sure your testosterone's at a optimal range. You don't have to go crazy. You don't have to, like, be like these gym bros that are blasting gear and stuff like that. Gear is, like, another word for steroids.
J.R.: Mm.
Lorenzo: But for sure, if you wanna cut fat, I would recommend the GLP-3 so that you can actually turn off that food noise.
Make sure you're getting into, like, a caloric deficit where you can actually, you know, eat less and burn more than you, what you're consuming, because that's really what it is, right? Most people don't know this, but there's so much information out there, right? You know, you can actually j- ask ChatGPT for a workout plan and actually, you know...
It, it can literally build your calories out for you, but people don't wanna do it because obviously they're, they lack accountability.
J.R.: Mm.
Lorenzo: But overall be in a caloric deficit. 3,500 calories is one pound of fat. So for example, if you're, you know, eating, you know, [00:12:00] 2,000 calories a day, or no, excuse me, 2,500 calories a day, and you and you eat 2,000 calories every day, seven days from that, you're gonna lose one pound per week-
J.R.: Mm
Lorenzo: per science.
J.R.: Right.
Lorenzo: Like- It's like math ... it's gonna happen.
J.R.: Yeah.
Lorenzo: You know? So if it doesn't, then there's something wrong with your gut- There's something else ... and, and we, we pretty much further go that's what we do with our clients too. Like, there's something wrong with, like, the microbiome and your gut's being backed up.
It's, it's another issue rather than, you know, your metabolism, stuff like that.
J.R.: Right. Right. On that, though, I'm curious. So microbiome, digestion and being backed up, from what I've heard from some of my fitness coaches is that obviously if the more consistent you are with eating, sleeping, your fiber, et cetera-
Lorenzo: Mm-hmm
and
J.R.: your when you use the restroom how consistent it is, that'll kind of level things out, but do you find that your clients or, or yourself, what helps with that if it's, if there's something else that's going on?
Lorenzo: Sometimes it's just a, you know, predisposition.
J.R.: Mm.
Lorenzo: More so if you're, if you're getting your [00:13:00] steps in, if you're actually getting your water in.
J.R.: Yeah.
Lorenzo: Most people aren't getting their hydration in. I recommend half, half of your body weight in ounces minimum. You know, I'm, I'm pretty much taking, like, 190 ounces. Mm-hmm. So it's, like, more than a gallon a day. Yeah,
J.R.: yeah.
Lorenzo: Just because, like, I'm burning through all these things and, like, I'm eating so so little, and I, I'm, like, getting thirsty quicker, so then I have to hydrate.
J.R.: Mm.
Lorenzo: And that's just, like, part of the game when it comes to preserving muscle in my journey-
J.R.: Right ...
Lorenzo: specifically. Yeah.
J.R.: So your journey of getting shredded, I'm curious you mentioned... I saw on your story, right, trying to get abs, and I love the- Yeah. I love the it was, it was, like, Cat's video or something where it was like, you know, you guys calling each other out and saying, "Hey, I need you..."
Right. Like, "You should do this, and you should do this," and it's not a putting each other down- Mm ... but it's more of a holding each other accountable in a positive way. Right. I love that a lot.
Lorenzo: Right.
J.R.: So you mention your journey to getting shredded. I'm curious what that is like and what you can share with us.
Lorenzo: Yeah, dude. So first of all, I haven't had abs since I was, like, 16 years old, dude.
J.R.: Yeah.
Lorenzo: Yeah. Like, that was when I was just, like, 150 pounds soaking wet, just skinny. I just had abs, right?
J.R.: Yeah.
Lorenzo: Just 'cause. [00:14:00] And now I'm 30, turning 31 at the end of the year, and now, I mean, obviously I wouldn't show it here, but We'll see
like, I have abs now, and it's, like, cool to see because, you know, everyone has them. Everyone has abdominal muscles. It's just, you just have a layer of fat on top of it, and most people, especially in men. So this is, this is what, if you don't know if you hold fat in your midsection, it ha- it, it's, it's a primary sign that your hormones are imbalanced.
Because if you, if you have more estrogen in your body, you're gonna hold weight in your midsection. It's just, it's just a thing, especially for women, too. So if you have more weight in your midsection, that means their hormones are, are pre- are, are messed up, too. So, like, you know, their testosterone level is, like, maybe way higher.
For, for men it's may- it's may- your estrogen's way higher. That kind of thing.
J.R.: Mm.
Lorenzo: But yeah. Like- Get your steps in, make sure you get your water in burn more than you consume, and you'll be well on your way to living a better life when it comes to your physique and your fitness.
J.R.: Yeah. Yeah.
Pretty straightforward, simple stuff, right?
Lorenzo: Yeah.
J.R.: I feel like even if, [00:15:00] you know, like you said, there's a lot of information out there, and it's easy to get bogged down with the different ways to get there, but it really is a simple science-
Lorenzo: Mm-hmm ...
J.R.: so to speak. I know you can get thrown off by temptations here and there, but essentially, if you dial in on, you know, the, the workouts, the hydration, the sleep, the steps, and everything else you should be on your way there.
At least 80/20, right?
Lorenzo: Yeah, it's not about being perfect. Like, my clients, they take two ch- treat meals. We don't call it cheat meals. Mm. Treat meals a week, just to really give their body a kind of a reset, and just give your mind a reset, you know? Like, people have birthdays. People have things that they wanna celebrate, right?
Right. It's not like you have to be dialed in every single day, 24/7.
J.R.: Right.
Lorenzo: It's not like... And, and compared to, like, competition level kind of preparation-
J.R.: Mm ...
Lorenzo: you're not doing that. So I hold myself to a different standard, obviously, but I'm, I'm still doing that. But my amount of exertion in the gym, my, my my performance when it comes to, like, you know, creating my food and meal plans and stuff like that is very similar because, you know, I come from that background, too.
I just wanted to see what my body could do.
J.R.: Right.
Lorenzo: So.
J.R.: I like that.
Lorenzo: Yeah.
J.R.: Okay. You don't mind transitioning to wealth. [00:16:00] Sure. So you mentioned first topic or how health is wealth and why being fit is important to building your business. That makes a lot of sense to me, but could you explain your thought process on that?
Lorenzo: Yeah, I just... Me, it's, in my own opinion, I really believe that, you know, if you're gonna be in business with somebody, or if you see someone out there that's trying to, you know, pitch something at you, if they're not in shape, first and foremost their presence, if they walk in a room or if you see them on Instagram, you just, you just have a respect for somebody that just has, like, that's fit, right?
Just playing out, like, there's just something in your subconscious that just says like, "I don't really trust this person," because if they're overweight, they're just... Like, maybe they'll just mess something up something else up. Again, my own opinion. But more so, that's pretty much what it is when it comes to, like, life, right?
It's just people are wired that way. They'll trust someone who has, you know, great habits, great systems in their life. They're, they're disciplined, and you know that you can trust them subconsciously. It's not really about like, "Hey, maybe this person's the smartest." I, I saw an ad the other day, this, like, tax professional guy, and he's helping people save way more on taxes, but I get- I keep getting his [00:17:00] ads every single day, and I, I'm sure he's good for it.
Like, he seems super smart, super knowledgeable, but dude's just overweight. I'm just like-
J.R.: Mm ...
Lorenzo: I don't know. I just... Something about it. Yeah,
J.R.: yeah, yeah. No, I think I, I, I feel very similar to you- Mm ... because I think inherently, maybe it was an Alex Hormozi video or someone else video where they are saying how- Y- no one comes out of the womb ripped and shredded, right?
You need a certain level of discipline, of delayed gratification, of sort of systems thinking accountability in order to get fit.
Lorenzo: Mm-hmm.
J.R.: And obviously it doesn't mean you're a good person or successful by being fit, but- Right ... having those traits can more lend you towards that impression, like you said, right?
Lorenzo: Yeah. And speaking of being wombed out the, out the being ripped out the womb, so my wife so in, in the last, you know, since we've talked, my wife has built her platform to about a million followers, and one of, one of the reels went viral. My son... So my wife was working out throughout her whole pregnancy, from eight weeks to 40, and he came out with some, with some, with some good [00:18:00] inserts-
and with some good delts, with some hamstrings. Like, he was jacked. Like, dude, like- Yeah, yeah ... the, the people with millions of followers, fitness influencers, and you know, everybody, they're just like, "Oh my gosh," right? And you know, he's big now. He's like 20 pounds right now, seven months, crawling. Like, I would think he'd be, he's more advanced for his age.
But it really determines, so the, the, the dad's physical fitness while while the woman is pregnant, and obviously the pr- the woman who's pregnant-
J.R.: Mm-hmm ...
Lorenzo: when she's working out more, it really develops the body composition of the baby.
J.R.: Hmm.
Lorenzo: It really just does. And it's a fact.
J.R.: Right.
Lorenzo: So. Mm-hmm.
J.R.: I was gonna say- Yeah
I guess the caveat, minus your baby, all, most other babies don't come out ripped, but Okay. Yeah. But yeah, I did see that video- Yeah ... and I thought that was so funny. Yeah. It's funny ... and I like that. Have you ever seen those videos of, there's this one, I think he's like a gym owner, and he does workouts with his...
Well, his son will do some, like, hang, dead hangs or something like a-
Lorenzo: I think I
J.R.: have seen that ... like, like a deadlifts or something, and then he'll be like, "Oh no, that's a no rep. That's a no rep." Mm-hmm. And then so the baby does it again, and then it's super cute.
Lorenzo: Yeah, dude. I'll probably do that to-
J.R.: Yeah, I was about to ask [00:19:00] if, yeah- Yeah.
if you're gonna do that to your son.
Lorenzo: Yeah.
J.R.: Let's see. So moving on, you mentioned how your offers work and it stems from marketing and personal brand. I know you guys are big on personal brand and- For sure,
Lorenzo: yeah. Definitely ...
J.R.: your, your strategy for building your businesses. Do you have any thoughts on that or jumping off points?
Lorenzo: So when it comes to offer creation, guys you really just have to bring value to the marketplace. We started from just our experience, right? So- In the coaching space, it's like a, I would say if you know Andy Elliott, he'd say it's like a, it's like a billion-dollar industry and growing. And if... You don't even have to be all, like, you know, dialed in, figured out.
If you're just a little bit further ahead than somebody, you can help people, and that's why the coaching space is, is, is growing. Like, you, you see coaches popping up left and right, you know, whether... Not, not just fitness. Fitness, wellness, mental, spiritual, everything. People can help people, and that's really what it's all about, right?
We've... If we help more people, you help people get what they want, you'll get what you want. And creating offers is simply this. Like, if you wanna... We start with a, with a lead magnet, and, [00:20:00] and w- we've learned this from Hormozi, we've learned this from our own business partners. You create, you, you create a community.
You create a community. Y- you, you hand out a free guide of, of value that really just sum- summarizes your program in, in a nutshell. Obviously, people can't get all the results in just, like, a PDF- Right ... or maybe, like a, like a Notion video or something like that, right? But they're gonna have some value, maybe one thing that they can take and actually go win at a high level just applying one thing of your, of your recommendation.
J.R.: Mm.
Lorenzo: From there, you can actually funnel them into, like, a what we call a lead pool. And this is, like, a curated community. You can either use Facebook groups or school groups or WAP or whatever you want and just kinda control that environment for people who have already raised their hand, say, "Hey, I like what you said about certain expertise.
I, I can, I can trust you. I actually wanna trust you." And now you become their thought leader. And because you're influencing them in a closed environment, you're able to maybe pour into them more. And really what we do is y- we go into a tran- a transcendent [00:21:00] process where you're selling them maybe, like a, like a low-ticket course.
Mm. Like, maybe, like, a $47 or a $97 value.
J.R.: Mm-hmm.
Lorenzo: Maybe it's a prerecorded course, right? From there, you can go to a webinars where you can sell them maybe a mid-ticket and then ultimately if you wanna take it to obviously what we were talking about earlier, the coaching space, a one-on-one coaching program where you're actually giving them, you know, insight.
So it's not really about the, the actual, like, principles and stuff and steps and... 'Cause you can, you can m- you can put that all into, like, a PDF. You can put that all to a course. But what people really want is insight. They want timing. They want connection, right? So that's really where the coach- coaching space really thrives is, you know, if someone wants to coach with you, it's, "Hey, I want a specific access to you in this certain time, in this certain area of my life where I see that you are overlooking me because I know that you're in a place where I wanna be at."
So yeah. And then we built our business with pretty much that framework. [00:22:00]
J.R.: Do you have any examples of insights that you could give? Mm. So if, like, I'm trying to buy that coaching service or that tier or that insight, what would that look like?
Lorenzo: It's really you know, obviously individual specific, right?
Mm-hmm. So for example, like, if somebody wants to, you know, get, you know, their, their their level of testosterone levels up naturally, I'll give them insight where something that I've done to, to boost that up in, in a specific time and place. Sometimes it's not really giving them, like, a protocol that you can actually find online.
It's like cater to this person- Mm ... in this specific time so that they can actually apply it. And maybe sometimes where they want the, the hard truth, like, like a, like a tough love kinda, like a insight at, at that time.
J.R.: Yeah.
Lorenzo: Or maybe it's something, "Hey, I wanna be more empathetic to you in this time.
Maybe I know that you're going through something. Maybe you just lost your job. Maybe, you know, something in the family's happened." I don't know.
J.R.: Right.
Lorenzo: So that kinda [00:23:00] insight is really, again, individual specific, but more so it's really, again, custom connection. No- nothing that AI could ever do really because, you know, they can't see past just, you know, the screen or the information.
J.R.: I see.
Lorenzo: Mm-hmm.
J.R.: So it's not like something you can, you can find in a book or Google it or have ChatGPT throw up like a, like a course, like a structured regimen, cookie cutter, one size fits all sort of program. Right. It's more of a catered towards you, the clients- Mm-hmm ... personalized to your experience, your problems, your challenges, and saying, "Hey, based on my insight, based on what I've achieved, here's a specific insight for you to apply, and that'll, you know, 10X your results or whatever."
Lorenzo: Yeah.
J.R.: Rather than just a generic sort of advice.
Lorenzo: Yeah, specifically where you're at- Mm-hmm ... in your business, in your fitness- Yeah ... in your life, marriage, whatever. Yeah. And that's valuable, right?
J.R.: Yeah,
Lorenzo: definitely. Having, having... 'Cause sometimes, or I- I've seen Alex Hormozi pay, pay Grant Cardone, you know, six figure kind of for one, for one meeting with him.
J.R.: Mm-hmm.
Lorenzo: And then he [00:24:00] hung up after five minutes because he got that one thing.
J.R.: Mm.
Lorenzo: That one insight at the specific time for him in his business, and he went to go 10X that, that, that information.
J.R.: Right.
Lorenzo: So that's why that insight really, really, really matters, right? Definitely. It's not really about having so much information, right?
So w- we, you know, we both know this, like, knowledge on ice is worse than, you know, ignorance on fire. So, but I mean, even, even all the guys, you know, up at the top that are doing big things and, you know, doing $100 million and stuff like that, they would even say, "Hey, I don't have anyth- anything figured out, dude.
I just feel like I'm dumb and I'm just kind of figuring along the way."
J.R.: Yeah. And- Just listening and doing and then seeing what works and keep going.
Lorenzo: Yeah. For, yeah, definitely. Definitely. Yeah.
J.R.: Yeah. So a couple of other things. You mentioned between your two companies in fitness and coaching, how you're transcending and evolving into digital product space, and I know you kind of touched upon that a little bit, but also you said marketing consulting business where you teach leaders other industries, mainly real estate, on how to use marketing and personal brand to grow and scale.
Anything you wanna pull from those two?
Lorenzo: Yeah. [00:25:00] So overall, we are in a marketing business.
J.R.: Mm-hmm.
Lorenzo: Right? So if you could be the best fitness coach, the best life coach, like, you could be the top tier. You can know everything. You can go to college. You can go, you can get a PhD in, in those things. You could be the best, but if no one knows about you- You're not gonna, you're not gonna have a, a, a high revenue business
J.R.: Mm.
Like what value are you gonna add to someone if they don't know you exist?
Lorenzo: Exactly. So, ultimately, you know, we, we wouldn't say we're the best fitness coaches. We just know that we have more reach. So, you know, I ask people all the time, like, who, who would you rather... Who do you think makes more money?
Somebody who's the best at what they do in their craft, and maybe they, they don't have anyone to, to reach or maybe that's very limited because they just don't utilize the, the information age that we're in today, especially with AI and things like that, or somebody who has reach, maybe not the best coach, but they're just out there more.
Who do you think makes more? And ultimately, who are they gonna impact more? Because it really is not really about the [00:26:00] business itself or the, the fulfillment side of it. So there's three, there's three things, three legs to a business, right? There's service, the fulfillment. There's the sales, obviously converting the sale, and then there's the marketing.
So just, just know that marketing makes millions. We are partnered with people in the real estate space that literally do all their marketing via Facebook, Instagram, all organically, m- very limited and really no paid ads, and they run seven-figure companies multiple, multiples of them in the real estate space, whether it's coaching, mortgage when it comes to like residential sales, things like that.
So we're actually a part of a community where it's one of the most sought-after real estate coaches that he's like the leader of it and we're, we're partnered with him. And he holds a mastermind. He's actually holding a mastermind next in September in L- in Lake Tahoe. And Cat, my wife, she's actually one of the speakers and she's being brought in as like a dark horse-
J.R.: Mm
Lorenzo: um, because she's had so much, you know, experience building a business to multiple six [00:27:00] figures obviously with, with, you know, both of us and also being able to reach people in a marketing perspective with, with a track record of a million followers, you know, over 30 million views in a month.
That's pretty much 1.2 billion views in a year. So when it comes to marketing, it's everything. Like you could literally have... You can, you, you like go all in on marketing and, and, and actually have your sales calls be a lot, way easier. Like people will come to you warm. They'll trust you. That's why personal brand nowadays is so, so powerful because people will only do business with what they know, what they like, and they trust, right?
So when it comes to that you know, marketing is everything
J.R.: Yeah.
Lorenzo: Mm-hmm.
J.R.: I like it. So on marketing, you mentioned viral tactics and polarizing persona to gain the algorithm. I'm curious what you meant by that. I, I have an idea, but w- do you wanna elaborate?
Lorenzo: Yeah, so if you... You gotta stand on one side, right?
If you stand, if you stand for wh- if you stand for everything, you [00:28:00] stand for nothing. So i- once you have a, an opinion about something, what you stand for, your values, things like that, there's always going to be, I would say, half the population will disagree with you. We've seen it through politics, through religion.
Like, there's always gonna be a left, a right, a, a blue and red, a B, a A and B. And using that to your advantage, maybe being a little bit rage bait-y to get to get the views in a way that's, you know, graceful and actually tasteful, but more so really getting to the people that, that you wanna attract.
And we found that if we're so, wanting to please everybody and actually tickling people's ears, we're probably just gonna attract people that wanna hear those things, and also they're not gonna wanna, We, we've, we've, we've found that it really attracts gen pop, which is general population. 98% of the population is, you know, they're, they have a scarcity, broke mentality.
Who we really wanna attract are the people who are, you know, really wanting to grow, who wanna take their, their business or their [00:29:00] fitness or their life to the next, to the next level, and those are the people c- who can hear the harsh truth because truth is truth whether it's harsh or not. We've known that, you know, just following the example of Jesus, that He would actually, you know, call the Pharisees a brood of vipers.
He would really talk to them and, and, and call them profane things in, like, in, in just a, a, a expert, a excerpt of scripture, but not all the time. So we have, like, a little flair of that, right? So we're not here to be, like, you know, happy-go-lucky Christians online, and really our goal is to spread the gospel using our platform.
Ultimately, that's really what we wanna do. We're actually using our businesses to further the Kingdom of God so that we can actually see people come to the light, come to having a relationship with, with Christ so that they can, you know, be with Him in the next life. But overall, we don't wanna attract people who have that broke mentality, who have that scarcity mentality because most of the time...
And we just ran our webinar just, just yesterday, and there... I mean, there was people [00:30:00] wanting payment plans for a thri- $399 product.
J.R.: Mm.
Lorenzo: And again, those aren't the people that we wanna attract, so that's just kind of a perspective from there.
J.R.: Yeah.
Lorenzo: Yeah.
J.R.: Why do you think that- Why, why is it not ideal to want to attract someone who need a pay- who needs a payment plan on a $399 product, or 399 product?
Lorenzo: There's, for one, they don't see the value. Because we, we have positioned it... We, we gave so much value and w- we, we, we valued it at about $6,000 worth of, like, resources, worth of value. And we even say, "Hey, we're not gonna charge you 6,000. We're not even gonna charge you two $3,000." It's literally 10% of all of that.
So it's not, it's not the fact that it's just $400. It's the fact that they're not willing to bet on themselves, right? And that's really the shift that, that, that we want people a little further along-
J.R.: Mm ...
Lorenzo: so that if I have to convince you of one thing, then I have to convince you, like, basically the whole time.
J.R.: Right.
Lorenzo: So we want people [00:31:00] to, who get into our program that are a pleasure to work with, that'll, that won't question... Not saying they won't ask questions, but they won't, like, question every single thing.
J.R.: Right.
Lorenzo: Because, I mean, you probably know someone who is a $500 client versus someone who is a f- a $5,000 client, they say, "Oh yeah, how about this?
How about that?" $500 client. And then the 5,000, "Oh yeah, pay the invoice."
J.R.: Mm-hmm. "
Lorenzo: What do I do next?"
J.R.: Yeah.
Lorenzo: Like, they're, they're a pleasure to work with. They're easygoing. Not saying that the journey, then the program's not gonna be hard for them, just saying that they're just easier to work with. Because wealthy people, whether you're on the way to wealth or you're already there and you're wanting to expand from there, that's just how they move.
J.R.: Right. It's like a signal to their behavior, how they make decisions-
Lorenzo: Exactly ...
J.R.: and the value that they see in something, right?
Lorenzo: Definitely.
J.R.: I would even say that if you don't have $400 to spend on that, and, like, you generally think, like, "Oh, that's really tough," then maybe it is not right for you because- Yeah, it's not
maybe you should work on your finances or- Yeah, definitely ... a little bit. Like, save up some money.
Lorenzo: Mm-hmm.
J.R.: So while we're on worship, I, I really wanna ask, the rest of it makes sense, but this one specifically, why American Christianity is keeping [00:32:00] us stuck, overweight, and stagnant like gen pop Christians.
I'm curious what you mean by that.
Lorenzo: It really just goes down to that scarcity mindset, right? So many people, I, I've seen it firsthand where they, they use their excuses in like, you know, in this personal development world, we kind of like separate them from like I don't really hang out with a lot of like just people in general. I'm, I'm pretty close, close, close, close circle, closed looped.
My life is this. I wake up, spend time with my family. We do our business during the day. We go to the gym, pick up my son, and then we come back home. Mm-hmm. It... Only time we're really socializing, bro, is like when we're at events, when we're... I'm, I'm doing stuff like this, you know, furthering, advancing our business, getting the word out, and that's pretty much it.
My time is very valuable, especially at our age, where, you know, we really wanna be specific and intentional with the time that we do spend with people. And, you know, I'm actually happy to be here with him. Happy to see you. I haven't seen you in like... I mean, obviously, we did the podcast in November, but I haven't seen you in years, bro.
Yeah. So I really value that relationship we have, and we're able [00:33:00] to come together. But overall it's just people bring the same limiting beliefs in their personal professional life into their faith, and it limits them because they will use the same lo- same thought process in why they're still stuck in their disobedience, 'cause they're not repenting.
They're not, they're not dropping, they're not dropping the marijuana. They're not, they're still sle- sleeping with their significant other before marriage. They're still doing these things, and it's the same habits that keeps them from making more money. Bro, we're in the information age. AI's at its p- not...
I wouldn't say it's at its peak. It's growing even more. It's more... It's easier to make money now than it was 10 and almost 15 years ago. Of course,
J.R.: yeah.
Lorenzo: I did an, I did an example, or I did a comparison. $40,000 around 20- in 10 years ago, 2016, is equivalent now to $67,000.
J.R.: Mm.
Lorenzo: The rate of inflation, like you had to make that much more to actually keep up with that kind of lifestyle back then, and that was only 10 years ago.
So, you know, [00:34:00] the company that we came from, people were, "Oh, we're making six figures," blah, blah, blah. Like dude, that was kind of a lot of money back then. Yeah. But six figures today, a million dollars today doesn't hit the same. Mm. And I mean, dude, we, we've touched the most amount of money we've ever had in our life.
We actually made more than our parents ever did in a, a, in a yearly salary, but we know that there's more to do, more, more to reach, more people to impact. You know, so we have like kind of... We have a separate offer where we have a, we have a media team that we've recently just outsourced for people to do events.
And you know, we have people that we're responsible for now. You know, we have employees. We have VAs. We have, we have a team that we, that runs our digi- digital product offer as well. And we're not just responsible for our family, but we're responsible for other people's income too.
J.R.: Right.
Lorenzo: So people are, are, are, are relying on us.
So that's why I took a vow. You know, I think I told you last time, like I've been sober since March from alcohol, and you know, I need to be sharp. Like I'm going to this wedding tomorrow. Dude, they brought in cases of the XO Hennessy. Like [00:35:00] he's my boy. Who's the, who's the, who's the bride? I mean- I mean, not the bride.
The husband the, the groom.
J.R.: Yeah
Lorenzo: He said, "Dude, it's about to be lit." I'm like, "Cool." "I'm gonna party with you hard, but I'm gonna be sober." Nice. He's like, "I know, bro- Respect ... but it's all good." You know? So, because I've, I've done it, bro. I've done- I noticed, like- I've been there, done that. Yeah. And dude, I know...
And obviously in my fitness journey now, it's gonna, like, deter my results for sure, but you know, so I'm, I'm just uninterested at this point. I'm responsible for more, so that calls me to be better, to be sharper. And just because I'm giving that up doesn't make me better. Right. It just gives me a ground zero.
J.R.: Right.
Lorenzo: Right? So.
J.R.: So I'm curious, in this section, you call out... Again, I guess I'm curious about the Christian side of it. So sin is shamed except for gluttony and being overweight, and then you mentioned being broke and fat and all this other stuff. I like it. I'm just curious, I wanna dig into that. Like, why do you think specifically in Christians nowadays- Mm
are leaning more towards that sort of [00:36:00] baseline as opposed to a higher calling that we're called to be, which is, you know, more accountable and, and being more sharp and, and, you know, being more in the image of God rather than what you're saying here?
Lorenzo: We're just distracted, bro.
J.R.: Yeah. Like Christians specifically?
Lorenzo: Yeah. I mean, spec- like generally and- Sure ... Christians specifically too, they identify with themselves as the general public sometimes too. Sometimes you wouldn't know that they're a Christian unless they have it in their bio, unless they wear a cross around their neck.
J.R.: Mm.
Lorenzo: But sometimes there's just the Christians that attend church every Sunday, and they're just, they look like they're at the club on S- on Saturdays too, and Sundays.
Not saying that's, that's horrible. Like, you know, I, I go there sometimes, but it's not like that's my, that's my thing.
J.R.: Yeah.
Lorenzo: But specifically for Christians you know, w- we're called to be set apart. That's the whole point. Mm. We need to be set apart from the world, we need to be salt in, in, in the world and the light.
So how can they, how can they differentiate you if you're not, if you're doing the things that the, the, the world does? [00:37:00] So, when it comes to the gluttony, when it comes to, you know, the, the broke mentality, we're called to be to, to be good stewards with what we're given. So it really, it's really case to case though, right?
If, if you're a good steward with what you're given and you're able to build wealth with that, you're, you have a higher ex- you have a higher expectation from God to, for you to actually cater and actually cultivate that gift that He gave you to build wealth. For somebody else, that's maybe, you know, their purpose is, is to be like, you know, maybe a CNA or a nurse, something like that.
Maybe they wouldn't make, you know, multiple six figures in a month because it's just not there, but their calling is that, and that's okay, too. But if you do that to the fullest of your extent potential, and you do it that, you know, that reflects the, the light of the Lord, that people see Jesus in how you move and how you talk and how you speak, and that's really what it all, what it's all about, right?
So, and reflecting that, that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and you need to take care of it. So [00:38:00] you need to be a great sample, a great example for that. So, I'm just tired of, like, people who claim to be Christian, and then they're actually doing the things that the world does, and then the only thing that would differentiate them would be them, their church attendance, and they're actually, you know, they're just rocking the gear.
It's not about that. You need to walk it internally rather than externally.
J.R.: Mm.
Lorenzo: Not from what you do, from what you wear, from what you put on your Instagram bio. It's what you have inside. That's what really matters.
J.R.: I like that.
Lorenzo: Yeah, yeah.
J.R.: Last question on that. I wanna... I'm curious. Let's say for the general Christians out there-
Lorenzo: Sure
J.R.: all of us who, who, who can strive to be better-
Lorenzo: Mm-hmm ...
J.R.: what do you think is the first step? Like, what do you think we should just focus on? Like, hey, just do this and it'll take you, you know, in the right direction.
Lorenzo: To be around people who are better than you. Mm. That goes into business and actually specifically for, for for your spirituality, for, for your spiritual life.
And I'm surrounded by men who are doing the things that they're, they're... they say that they're gonna do. Their yes means yes. They're in their word, they're in their Bible, and I lean on them when I need help when it comes to [00:39:00] a wise counsel, whether it be for my personal issues, whether it be for marriage, stuff like that.
Getting into community of other, for men especially, Bible-believing men that will keep you accountable and actually have a, have a brotherhood to lean on, that's pretty much more important. You know, I'm plugged into, like, a Zoom community where other, other men that are, you know, pretty much all about that life as well.
But more so if you can get in belly to belly, kinda like how we're doing right now, and actually at your local church, then that's, that, that's the first step.
J.R.: Mm.
Lorenzo: Other than that what I like to do, I like to be submerged into things that I like when it comes to people who I wanna be like, whether it's business or in my faith.
We're going to attend Pastor Anthony Phillip Mitchell's Street Preacher podcast in Vegas, and he's like, he's like a, he's like one of the most viral pastors right now- Mm ... from Atlanta Church 2019, and he has a separate ministry that he's doing, and he's actually having a podcast and it's, it's live.
J.R.: Mm. [00:40:00]
Lorenzo: So we're gonna be there. We, we bought the VIP ticket, and yes, he was charging for tickets because this is a separate ministry that does... it's not free.
J.R.: Mm.
Lorenzo: Right? But but yeah, it's, From, from that alone, it's like we... And we, we, we promote that because we... W- that's what we're about. We're about wellness.
We invest in that when it comes to our fitness, our time, our, our, our, where our money goes our wealth. Obviously, we build our businesses. Actually, after this weekend, we might, haven't pulled the trigger yet, we might go to Patrick Bet-David's Vault conference that's in Vegas, too.
J.R.: Mm.
Lorenzo: And the great thing about living in Vegas is that all the business stuff is there.
J.R.: Yeah, yeah.
Lorenzo: And that's kind of one of the reasons why we moved to Vegas is because we actually me- ended up meeting our business partners where they took us from, like, 10K to $100,000 in Vegas, too, and it's like, it's just where it's at for us. Mm. So that's where God aligned us, and that's where we live now, so.
J.R.: That's dope, man.
Lorenzo: Yeah, man.
J.R.: Cool. All right, so we're at the top of the hour. Sure. But I wanna ask, do you have any last takeaways or lessons or things that you want the audience to take from our conversation? Anything that we left [00:41:00] out or last sort of exclamation point?
Lorenzo: I would just say I mean, it's kind of cliche, but, you know, it, it's easy...
It's the, it's the easiest time to win right now. Most people are distracted. Most people are consumed by things that they ought not to do because of their lack of willpower. If you can override any... That, that, that little voice in your head that says, "Dog, just relax," like, "You deserve it," like, "Pick up the glass of wine.
Just smoke, just smoke that blunt." Just like, you know, "Go hang out with your friends that you know that you shouldn't be hanging out with because, you know, you deserve it." Honestly, we don't deserve anything, but we deserve to be forgiven because God has forgiven us, and ultimately, you have a responsibility to see out your potential.
Potential means nothing. It's, it's a fancy word of saying you didn't do anything yet. So especially as men, we need to be leaders of the home. If you, if you have a spouse, if you have a wife, if you, if you have kids, like, you... They lean on you for one, [00:42:00] emotional stability, first and foremost, spiritual stability, and obviously financial stability, and all these things.
And if more men would just take more action and actually take their life to a different level than they're already at, because you know, you know that if you're not, if you're not doing the things that you need to do, if you're not reaching your full potential, you know. It will reflect in your health, your bank account, your relationships.
Mm. That's why my pillars are, you know, wellness, wealth, and worship, and in my opinion, that's just the standard of, of, of living a purpose-ful- purposeful life. So, I'm not saying it's gonna be easy. I'm saying that men need to wake up. We need to create these things and create environments in, dominate your world and conquer the world that you're given in each and every single day so that you can actually create a better environment, better life for your future, not just for your comfort, but for the impact that you can create for other people.
Because people... If you lead one person, you're a leader, right? Whether it's your [00:43:00] girlfriend, your your kids, your coworkers As men, we have a responsibility to change the world one decision at a time. But there's so many vices out there that distract. We live in such a comfortable consumer society.
They just wanna throw everything at you. You wanna buy everything, you wanna do everything, you wanna go to all the shows. You wanna, you wanna do everything. But is it actually going to propel you forward to the best version of you? If you, if you... If there's something in your, in your voice that say, "Hey, you need to do better," that's God talking.
If there's something in your head that's saying, "Hey, just relax," it's the enemy. So that's, that's, that's my spiel.
J.R.: I like it.
Lorenzo: Yeah, bro.
J.R.: Sweet. Awesome. All right. We'll wrap it up with gratitude. Cool. Cool. So Lorenzo, what are you grateful for?
Lorenzo: I'm grateful for Jesus in my life. I'm grateful for that He's the foundation of, you know, everything that I do.
I'm grateful for my wife, first and... second and foremost. I'm grateful for my health, my son the businesses that we have, the relationships that I, I have in person [00:44:00] and, you know, all over online. We're grateful for the platform that we have because it's just a responsibility that God has positioned us in.
You know, it didn't... It, it's not because we didn't want it, but because God allowed it to happen so that we can, you know, spread His great word. And I'm just grateful for people, people in general that will hear this message, that will maybe... Maybe they won't apply everything that we talked about, but if they apply just one thing, I'm grateful for that.
And if, if, if in turn, comments comes around next year, says, "Hey, I listened to, you know, Zo and, and J.R.'s podcast, and dude, I made it happen. I locked in after that." And hey, I'm grateful for- Yeah ... what's gonna happen in the future.
J.R.: Right.
Lorenzo: So.
J.R.: Amen, man.
Lorenzo: Yeah, bro.
J.R.: All right. Final plug. Where can people find you?
What... Where do you, where do you want them to check out? Any plugs?
Lorenzo: Yeah. So, on Instagram, it's just zo.aromin. That's pretty much my handle for every s- platform across the board. And you can reach me at, at that, and also just on Instagram. Yeah. I'm not gonna give you my number, [00:45:00] so.
J.R.: Yeah, yeah.
Everything's there, right?
Lorenzo: Yeah. Yeah, bro.
J.R.: Cool. All right. We'll do our sign-off then. Cool. So Lorenzo, thank you for being here. I really appreciate it.
Lorenzo: Yeah. Sorry to
J.R.: ask you that. I can, I can listen to you talk for hours. It's, it's really inspiring. Thanks, man. It reminds me of our, of our, like, seminar days.
